Oracle EBS Database Administrator
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Oracle EBS Database Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining Industrial Scientific’s Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) environments, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. This role involves managing and maintaining the configuration, patching, and upgrades of the Oracle EBS applications and Oracle databases The position requires a strong understanding of database management, cloud infrastructure, and the ability to troubleshoot and optimize database operations including integrated applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
Manage and maintain database systems, including Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of Oracle EBS applications and Oracle databases. Monitor and optimize database performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure system reliability. Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Oracle EBS and OCI environments. Implement and oversee database security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices. Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to support and enhance Oracle EBS applications and design database solutions. Participate in daily stand-ups, project calls, and all-hands meetings to ensure effective communication and project progression. Lead Oracle projects and validate new versions of Oracle and operating systems to ensure optimal system performance. Provide support for critical production systems as needed. Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a minimum of 5 years supporting Oracle databases. Experience in configuring and supporting active/active configurations. Proficiency in patching Oracle databases. Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions and services. Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Appliances (backup and recovery). Proficiency in SQL and database scripting. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) is a plus. Experience with database performance tuning and optimization. Familiarity with database security best practices. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Certification in Oracle Database Administration or OCI is preferred.REQUIRED
Experience in Code migration, deployment using TAR files Experience in Handling of production incidents, creation of knowledge base Ability to follow up with Oracle Support on Product Issues Ability to interact at all levels of organization. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work in an offshore-onsite global support model context (Application Managed Services) Capable of leading process improvement initiatives and using tools like Six sigma to solve problems
PREFERRED
Experience in Oracle PaaS and SaaS (ERP Cloud) implementations Demonstrated experience in working with global teams and supporting global business functions Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in Oracle EBS instance Ability to partner with business analysts and AMS members to identify course of resolution for application issues Strong understanding of system design and system integrations.
