Oracle Database Administrator (Sr IT Database Administrator) Oracle Database Administrator (Sr IT Database Administrator) for Elster Solutions LLC (Houston, TX) RESPONSIBILITIES: -Design, implement and deliver our committed projects on-time using our defined agile processes. -Lead Oracle database upgrade design planning, design estimates and scripting development to support our planned Oracle 12c -> 19c upgrades. -Ensure our product is current with Oracle related patching. -Proactively lead and mentor team in Oracle related performance tuning improvements. -Testing and improving PL/SQL performance. -Analyzing and improve our Oracle database partitioning, table consolidation. -Database schema modeling, data volume and throughput modelling, scaling. -Analytical skills. -Research and lead efforts for new database adoption for next generation software and platform evolution. -Proactively participate in a cross-functional agile teams, working closely with other software developers, firmware developers, testers, Product Managers, documentation specialists, customer training specialists, customer support engineers, system verification engineers, and other functions. -Work with stakeholders and team members to clarify and define feature test acceptance criteria. -Actively participate in short daily standups, weekly story workshops, and other team activities. -Participate in code reviews and adhere to existing coding standards and development processes. -Work closely with your team to ensure we maximize the value and quality of the projects we deliver to our customers. -Work with the team to review and ensure new content has adequate automated test coverage. -Support a team-based approach to continuously deliver value to our customers, while focusing on individual technical excellence. -Capture and drive opportunities to improve our product back into product management which will improve customer satisfaction, the user experience, increase revenue and/or reduced product cost. -Ensure the new content we deliver conforms to Honeywell security requirements. YOU MUST HAVE: Qualified applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience in Oracle (11g,12c,19c) Database administration, support, and design. Full term experience must include: experience in developing automated scripts to support the maintenance, install, upgrades and backup of an Oracle embedded database; SQL Tuning; SQL and PL/SQL database design and application development; Proficiency interpreting Oracle AWR and ADDM reports; and experience in Database Administration, Analysis, Design, Development, and Maintenance of various Applications, Oracle OEM, Data Guard.
