Role Description The candidate will be primarily responsible for day-to-day Database Administration of Oracle 19C Databases ensuring the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance.  We require motivated and enthusiastic people who will work as part of an energetic global team to support enterprise database processes. Our team's primary responsibility is to keep the Databases in optimum condition. This involves database creation, database access control, backups/recovery, monitoring, performance tuning/optimisation, troubleshooting, space management, upgrades and security patching. It also includes Application support, process improvement, compliance, On-Call and weekend support. Role Responsibilities: Perform day to day database administration of Oracle 19C databases (including DataGuard) on Linux VM platform. Pro-actively manage oracle database resources ensuring their availability, resilience, integrity, efficiency and compliance at all times. Troubleshoot critical database issues and pro-actively monitor the databases and their resources. Participate in user/schema creation, privileges assignment, RMAN backups/restores, exports/imports and disaster recovery tests. Contribute to performance tuning, database sizing/space management, load balancing and configuration management. Maintain the database infrastructure and plan for future capacity requirements. Perform database upgrades and security patching. Support Application teams with their projects and database related queries/issues. Provide expertise during critical issue response. Take part in critical engineering and multi-team projects. Partner with other infrastructure teams to perform maintenance and upgrades on database infrastructure and to troubleshoot performance, network and hardware issues.  Produce and maintain internal knowledgebase articles. Perform other job-related duties requiring the same general knowledge, skills and degree of responsibility as above. Qualifications and Skills Required years of experience in a similar position:  4+ years. A Qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Solid understanding of Oracle Databases and their architecture. Hands on 19C Oracle database implementation/admin experience in a multi-platform environment. Knowledge of Linux architecture, OS commands and tools, UNIX scripting. Demonstrated SQL and PL/SQL knowledge/skills. Experience with front-end database administration tools like Toad and SQL Developer. Experience with RMAN backups/restores, exports/imports, database upgrading/patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting, OEM. Show ability to support Application upgrade projects and deployments, as well as company-wide infrastructure projects as it impinges on database components. Strong technical documentation skills.     Knowledge of DataGuard, Oracle Key Vault, Python, Ansible automation tool are an advantage. Highly self-motivated and ability to work on own initiative as well as under direction. Keen attention to detail and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  Additional Requirements Willingness to work part of the week during US business hours. Willingness to provide on-call support during off-business hours including weekends on a rotating basis. Weekend and late night work may be required on occasion.
