This is an advanced-level E-commerce position requiring a minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science or related or has equivalent work experience. Must have at least 6 years’ experience in Oracle DBA support. Must have strong administration support skills in Oracle product support leveraging Unix (AIX) environments and strong communication and documentation skills. Must be able to lead and coordinate the design, development, implementation, and support of specialized business and technical information technology solutions.
The database administrator will provide technical support in a production operations environment and have thorough knowledge of Oracle database application development and operation support. The DBA performs complex operational tasks that include support of various types of applications used in a web infrastructure, analysis of the root cause of any problem issues, resolution of any application problems, and escalation of any irresolvable issues to the vendor as necessary. Support is 24x7x365 with on-call and weekend work expectations.
Typical Duties:
• Provides high-level technical support, database problem management, change management and maintenance on systems.
• Performs problem analysis for complex configurations of critical databases.
• Performs complex installation, configuration, customization and tuning. Provides input and answers to technical questions and problems while adhering to standards and procedures.
• Assists in strategic planning and database architecture and design. Makes recommendations on functional and business requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Work flexible hours including weekends and nights.
• Responsible for sharing 24x7 on call rotation duties with other team members.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 6 years of experience working with ORACLE database systems on AIX, UNIX and Linux.
• Oracle 12c, 19c, RAC experience.
• Oracle ASM.
• Oracle Transparent Data Encryption (TDE & TLS).
• Candidate must have experience in Oracle 11g and 12c database architecture, automation, installs, backup & recovery, monitoring, and database query tuning.
• Strong analysis, problem solving and performance tuning skill.
• RMAN and DATAPUMP experience.
• Shell scripting skill is required.
• Database partitioning, recovery, replication, failover, patching, and cloning experience.
• Oracle support in Java environment.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL.
• Strong verbal and written communication skill.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and with clients.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Oracle Database 12c and 19c.
• AIX Operating Systems.
• SQL Plus, PL/SQL, SQL Developer and OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager).
