The orderly assists in the operating room. Cleans operating rooms in between cases effectively. Orders and maintains adequate level of stock supplies. Interacts with patient and identifies them by the use of I.D bands. Rotates sterile supplies as required.
ResponsibilitiesPatient Transportation
Identification of patient by use of I.D. band.Cognizant of patient safety and comfort.Patient Positioning
Available for assistance in O.R. rooms. Aware of positional needs E.G., pillow, sand bags, fracture table, etc.Housekeeping Functions
Cleans OR rooms in between cases effectively.Inventory Supplies and Equipment
Orders and maintains adequate level of stock supplies.Rotates sterile supplies as required.Quality Improvement
Participates in QI program for surgical service.Identifies QI needs in the department.Professional Conduct
Employee has the willingness and ability to perform additional duties and responsibilities in different areas of the department on an as-needed basis or as determined by management.Follows attendance and all other est. hospital/dept. policies.No more than 2 written substantiated complaints representing a breach of policy, procedure or professional behavior since last evaluation.Demonstrates the philosophy of team concept.Participates in staff meetings with suggestions that enhance the work environment and increase productivity.Communicates well with supervisor reporting problems with equipment, supplies.
