This position is responsible for consulting, developing, implementing and evaluating medical center-wide management and employee development programs through both open and tailored, department-specific initiatives. Designs and delivers a variety of programs to support organizational changes and assists managers and senior leaders with goals using organizational development, continuous improvement, and adult learning theories and practices.

Major Responsibilities:

Independently carries out needs assessments, segmenting the targeted audience, selecting and/or designing assessment methods, instruments and data collection and develops the training programs or change interventions consistent with the assessment and the organization’s goals and strategies.Consults with administrative, clinical and physician leaders—including at the highest levels of the organization—to identify, diagnose and problem solve organizational effectiveness problems and solutions while building positive, value-added relationships with all clients. Designs instructional-, improvement-, or performance-based interventions to build individual and organizational capacity and improve patient satisfaction, employee climate and operational and financial performance.Works directly with the Director, VP of Human Resources, and other organizational leaders to develop, implement and measure workforce strategies enhancing the overall culture and work environment with a focus on management and leadership development, continuous improvement, and performance improvement.Manages several high-profile, system-wide projects (minimum of two) with senior stakeholders and sponsors (e.g., high-potential programs, lean quality programs, culture change initiatives, system-wide learning needs analysis, learning metrics and ROI, etc.).Collaborates with other internal subject matter experts (i.e. Quality, Nursing Professional Development, the Center for Innovation and Transformational Change, other HR leadership) across the Medical Center to effectively interpret feedback, deliver leadership and management learning and education programs and measure results. Solutions may be instructor-led, in-person solutions or e-learning, on-demand solutions.Trains, facilitates and coaches in the areas of leadership, management, culture, teamwork, engagement, execution, continuous improvement, change management, project management, and standard work.

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree.

Preferred:

Master’s Degree or current enrollment in a Master’s program.Lean Green Belt and/or Lean Black Belt certification.Experience teaching and facilitating lean programs and coaching/mentoring lean belt candidates.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

Minimum five to ten (5-10) years of progressively more responsible organizational development related work and managerial/leadership experience.A thorough understanding of the principles, theory and practice of large scale change, organizational development, continuous improvement, training and adult learning.Must possess excellent skill at building rapport with clients at all levels, demonstrate relationships are value-added for the client and organization and that the trust built facilitates the exchange of candid and productive feedback.Adept at gathering information through probing and listening and gleaning the salient points from the facts presented. Must demonstrate the ability to apply or modify existing OD/training tools based on the specific needs of clients.Ability to identify group behaviors and needs and determine appropriate interventions on the spot and be skilled at working with difficult groups.Ability to establish project plans, mobilize resources necessary to complete projects, monitor progress and manage resources.Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.

Preferred:

Specific healthcare experience is a plus.
