Organizational Development Senior Consultant

What You Will Do:

The Organizational Development Senior Consultant will serve as a critical team member for management consulting projects, from project initiation, through analysis, solutions development, implementation, and closeout; projects can span organizational development and transformation, strategic planning and implementation, business process improvement, and change management and strategic communications to federal health clients.

Specific responsibilities include:

Guide clients through complex transformation and organizational development efforts (e.g., reorganizations, organizational growth, and leadership changes), using approaches grounded in best practices for process optimization, organizational improvements, change management, and stakeholder engagement

Plan and facilitate large and small group meetings and working sessions, including for executive level clients, gather requirements, identify paint points, develop strategies, and built team culture

Apply critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills to collect quantitative and qualitative data (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys, document and dataset review)

Analyze quantitative and qualitative data and develop meaningful insights to address complex organizational challenges and support client decision-making

Lead the end-to-end development of client work products, such as root cause and gap analysis, findings and recommendation reports, requirements documents, Visio process flows, standard operating procedures, strategic plans, strategic communications, and reporting dashboards

Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced, unpredictable environment

Build and sustain meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues

Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to team members

Contribute to positive, inclusive team culture and collaborative working environment

Understand and use firm capabilities, solutions, and methodologies

Support internal and business development initiatives, such as communities of practice and proposals


What You Will Need:

Bachelor’s degree (or masters) in Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology, Organizational Design, or a related field

3+ years of professional experience in organizational design, change management, and/or consulting.

1+ year experience leading or co-leading project work, including client relationships and/or managing project timelines

Experience in at least two of the following areas: organizational development, leadership development, organizational strategy, organizational design and transformation, workforce strategy, change management, and/or communications


What Would Be Nice To Have:

Master’s Degree (e.g., MBA, MAOD, MPP, MHA, MPA, MSOD)

Change management, facilitation, process improvement, or project management certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, CAPM, PMP, or CCMP)

Experience performing data analysis and using findings to recommend and implement improvements

Experience developing new and re-designing existing processes to meet new and/or evolving business requirements

Ability to think strategically while delivering tactically, with a keen attention to detail

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Ability to investigate, make sense of, and break down complex client challenges into clear, digestible approaches and solutions

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels in an organization; ability to develop visually appealing and impactful communication materials

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and contribute as a team member, understanding personal and team roles, contributing to a positive working environment by building relationships with team members, and proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback

Demonstrated ability to identify and address client needs, build client relationships, and develop requests for information, as well as flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks and communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor

Experience prioritizing and handling multiple tasks, researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry and technical matters, and utilizing problem-solving skills to achieve desired outcomes

Advanced proficiency with MS Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
