HX5 is currently seeking an Orion Lab Integration Engineer to join the team with NASA at the JSC in Houston, Texas. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Serve as the Senior Engineer for the Cross-Program and Lab Integration activities of the Orion Program with the Avionics
Systems DivisionAnalyze and assess technical and programmatic integration activities and provide strategic guidanceFacilitate cross-program testing in the Orion Test Labs, serving as a point-of-contact to coordinate logistics, shift scheduling, and needed lab configurationAvionics, software, and system-level test planning and execution in support of the Orion and other programs lab testing for integration, verification, and validation activitiesNegotiate and track schedules with hardware and software dependencies including deliverables to and from external organizationsJointly manages with the prime contractor the overall test and integration approach for cross program avionics and software testingSupports and facilitates re-planning efforts to accommodate emerging issues and risks such as late deliveries or test
anomaliesAbility to travel 4 days every 6 weeks to Denver and/or other Artemis test facilitiesParticipate and contribute to system requirements reviews, preliminary design reviews and critical design reviewsPerform other duties as required


Education and Experience

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience:Master's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school and five (5) years of related experienceBachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering school and ten (10) years of related experience.On location position - situational telework onlyAbility to travel to Denver or other Artemis test facilitiesKnowledge and understanding of Linux and other scripting languagesAbility to work with others across organizationsAbility to effectively communicate technical dataAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetingsAble to organize and prioritize tasks in order to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervisionExperience working in a team environmentMust have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Preferences

 Knowledge of Flight Hardware and/or Flight Processes/PaperworkExperience with NASA processes

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and offers a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

Work Environment:

Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.Use of standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and
adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be
appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5%
of time).

Other Position Requirements: 
 

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.Must be able to travel, including air travel.Must have a valid Drivers License.
