Ortho Dental Assistant
Overview In this role, you’ll be an important member of the clinical team, working alongside GPs and other Specialty Clinicians dedicated to serving patients. You’ll be supporting many sides of the practice, greeting and guiding patients, and helping out across the office as needed. Schedule (days/hours) 8:30AM-4PM Responsibilities Patient Care Assistance: Assist the orthodontist during patient exams, diagnostic procedures, and treatments such as the placement of braces, retainers, or other orthodontic appliances. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) specific to orthodontic needs. Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures by ensuring comfort and explaining treatment steps. Provide patient education on oral hygiene and care of orthodontic appliances. Manage patient records, ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and progress. Clinical Support: Sterilize and prepare orthodontic instruments and equipment, ensuring infection control standards are met. Set up and clean treatment rooms before and after each procedure. Assist with the application and adjustment of braces, including bonding and removing brackets, adjusting wires, and fitting elastics. Take impressions for retainers, aligners, or other orthodontic appliances. Manage and organize orthodontic supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels for treatments.
