Overview The successful surgeon will contribute to the organization’s success in the operating room, ambulatory office, and on-call. Candidates with experience in Orthopaedic surgical care with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required. Experience with hip and knee replacements and revisions is required. The Orthopaedic Surgeon is responsible for treating patients with surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities will also include consulting with patients, discussing treatment options, treating patients, overseeing aftercare and physical therapy, and coordinating with other specialists, when necessary. Responsibilities The Orthopaedic Surgeon is responsible for delivering high-quality health care by developing and harnessing collaborative care teams to provide the most cost-effective and appropriate patient care. Collaborative care teams include the direct or indirect supervision of advanced practitioners and other team members in the ambulatory setting. In addition, the Orthopaedic Surgeon provides development and planning of efficient practice operations to help ensure appropriate same-day patient access to outpatient medical care. The successful candidates will provide patient-centered care, be a team player, and practice self-reflection. For inpatient assignments, the Surgeon is responsible for the care and management of patients in the hospital. This includes making patient rounds, contributing to the decisions for daily care, writing orders, interacting with consultants, and facilitating and coordinating the scheduling of therapeutic and diagnostic tests and procedures. For clinic assignments, the Surgeon will provide diagnostic and therapeutic health care coverage for patients, which includes but is not limited to, taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating lab tests, diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and providing a plan of treatment and education. Other duties may include sharing call hours, phone coverage, and seeing admitted patients within the hospital. Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the medical staff office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as a physician assistant within UF Health Flagler Hospital and/or the UF Health Care Network, as applicable. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as a physician in the state of Florida BLS is required
