Orthopedic Technician
*Description* *Title: Orthopedic Technician Full Time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm* Summary: The Orthopedic Technician supports orthopedic physicians and APPs in delivering specialized care to patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. This role ensures the proper application and maintenance of orthopedic devices while providing patient education to promote optimal recovery and comfort. Responsibilities: 1. Applies, adjusts, and removes orthopedic devices such as casts, splints, and braces. 2. Assists in patient examinations, minor procedures, and wound care. 3. Educates patients on proper care of orthopedic devices and post-treatment care. 4. Prepares and maintains equipment and treatment areas. 5. Documents patient information and care procedures. 6. Assists with vitals, exam preparation, and verify prescriptions per physician orders. 7. Able to identify common fractures and dislocations on X-ray images. 8. Reviews standard admission and pre-op instructions with surgical patients. 9. Instructs patient on pre and post operative care. 10. Assists with aspirations and prepare injections for administration. 11. Manages patient care duties, including checking schedules and patient flow coordination. 12. Maintains safety standards and infection control practices. 13. Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values. 14. Demonstrates regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. 15. Performs other duties as required. Working Conditions: Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Some occupational risk Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
