If you are interested in being a part of this, consider applying for the following opportunity: **Who we're looking for:** Operations Support Systems (OSS) is the department dedicated to key applications that enable our technology teams to actively plan, deploy & operate our networks. As a Data Scientist in OSS, you will be reporting to the Sr. Manager, Network Diagnostics and Solutions to design and develop solutions to streamline our processes and drive insights into our network and services to help ensure best customer experience possible. **What you'll do:** + You will work in a fast-paced environment in a smaller team where you will collaborate with teams across the company to tackle complex technical challenges. + You will be listening to the customer to identify issues and build requirements. + You will be writing Python code to collect, parse and store data efficiently within Splunk. + In addition, you will support our existing code base along side your peers. + You will be creating dashboard solutions in Splunk to drive insights into the business to help technical/networking teams diagnose customer issues faster. + You are a strong communicator who can break down complex, technological explanations to layman’s terms, and you are fluent in English. + You are ready to collaborate with the team to find innovative solutions to every problem you come across. + You are an awesome team player who has respect for everyone’s ideas. + You can commit to multiple projects at once with changing priorities and see them through to completion. **What you bring:** + Degree in computer science, software engineering or equivalent experience + Strong Python, Java, CSS, HTML and JavaScript skills + Strong database skills + Solid understanding of the Linux operating system + Solid analytical skills (ability to visualize data and make insights) + Experience with version control (Git, Subversion, etc.) + Test-driven development + Knowledge of consuming web services (REST/SOAP) + Exposure to Splunk or similar systems is welcomed! **What’s in it for you?** We believe in investing in our people and helping them reach their potential as valuable members of our team.
