Outbound Financial Manager
Summary of Position
Develop, report, monitor and communicate outbound transportation financials in a timely manner, to include but not limited to budget, P&L, accrual and forecast
Work closely with the outbound transportation functional teams and leadership to minimize outbound freight expense while optimizing store service
Manage the implementation and execution of outbound transportation policies and procedures that will provide the lowest landed cost of goods, meeting outbound transportation budget and service requirements
Conduct training, enforce policies, utilize systems and optimize procedures as guided by management

Principal Duties and Responsibilities  - The primary tasks the associate will perform during his/her work scheduleEffectively execute domestic outbound transportation finance operations, procedures and policiesSupport supply chain leadership with robust, timely and accurate financial information, to include the Chief Supply Chain Officer, VP of Outbound Transportation, and all Outbound DirectorsReview and recommend outbound transportation strategies to improve cost and service levels to leadershipLead, prepare and execute annual outbound transportation budget in collaboration with leadershipExecute monthly accrual to a legal, financial and company standardManage payables to contract term through agile reporting and aging facilitationPrepare financial statements and reports by obtaining data from company finance and operational systemsValidate and challenge budget assumptions used by business owners and verify accuracy of the informationPrepare monthly P&L in a timely manner with appropriate narrative and action items, highlighting trends and opportunitiesReforecast and delineate variance(s) as needed to capture and report finance fluctuations, allowing for execution of identified cost avoidance opportunitiesFacilitate annual and spot audits in conjunction with internal audit to ensure procedure compliance with controlsRepresent outbound transportation in company finance meetings, to include meeting facilitation and presentationEnsure the proper level of communication and customer service response by the finance teamEstablish and report measurable individual and team goalsMotivate and inspire team members for optimal performance and executionOrganize and prioritize workload and tasks for finance team members Coach and discipline team membersHire and train finance team associatesExecute performance evaluations, pay adjustments and related bonusesComplete other various assignments, as required
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications - Summary of knowledge, experience and education required.Bachelor’s degree with a major in business, economics or financeFive years of transportation finance or financial institution experience Minimum of three years direct associate management experienceStrong presentation and communication skills to diverse audiences, to include executive leadershipAbility to effectively conceive and manage a budgetStrong mathematical, financial audit and analytical skillsAbility to conceive, develop and implement new ideas, procedures and processesAbility to work will with people at different levels within and outside of the companyStrong organizational, administrative, written and verbal communication skills.Extensive working knowledge of the MS Office suite, especially Outlook, Access, and Excel, with the aptitude to learn new applications as neededKnowledge of transportation software applications from a finance perspectiveAbility to manage numerous projects simultaneouslyDynamic and agile management styleShould exhibit initiative, dependability, ability to work with minimal direct supervisionDemonstrate a desire to stay aware of and follow new financial policies and proceduresMust possess qualities of integrity, discretion and strong ethicsAbility to be successful in a changing environment and lead through the ambiguity of change
