In this position... 

MP&L Vehicle Logistics is seeking a highly organized and experienced individual to lead the implementation of a new Transportation Management System (TMS) for our vehicle logistics operations. This role requires a strong understanding of project management methodologies, coupled with practical experience in transportation, logistics, and vehicle tracking and tracing. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from planning and execution to monitoring and closure, while also overseeing the integration of vehicle tracking and tracing capabilities and inventory management within the new TMS.

You'll have... 

Bachelor degree in Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, or Industrial Engineering 5+ years of Supply Chain or Operations Management work experience

5+ years Microsoft Office experience to include Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPointSelf-starter with an eye for process waste elimination – a “go fix it” mentality, to positively influence changeKnowledge of Ford’s Freight Payment system, COPAC (Central Outbound Payment Authorization & Control)Ability to efficiently interface across Ford departments (Transportation Purchasing, Manufacturing Business Office, Product Development, Finance, Plant Operations)Strong oral / written communication skills to interact with outbound vehicle transportation service partners (Car haul Carriers, Rail Roads, Ro-Ro / Ocean Carriers, Import / Export Port Service Providers, Finished Vehicle Yard Management Service Providers) Ability to handle complexity and multi-taskingStrong organizational, project management, and time management skills requiredAbility to make decisions and work independentlyAbility to work with cross-functional groups (internal / external to the company)Proficiency in Alteryx and other big data mining tools such as MS Power BI, Qlik, or Tableau

What you'll do...

Lead the business implementation of Ford’s new Transportation Management System (TMS) Revitalize Ford’s competitiveness on how it constructs its network design, freight payment, inventory management for the Vehicle Logistics organization Launch New TMS system ensuring all internal Ford systems are well integrated into other Ford legacy systems, as well as ensuring external stakeholder integration and alignment Support development and creation of new methods and processes required to transport Next Generation Vehicles Continuously improve Ford’s inventory visibility of its finished vehicles from assembly plant to dealer, including vehicle movements to third party modifiers, in-transit repair dealers, and other non-normal intermediary locations Manage direct reports and the day to day oversight of Ford’s Freight Verify System and on-going system maintenance and upgrades Implement industry-first in-transit repair (ITR) dealer inventory visibility, allowing operations to understand where ITR units are in the network and estimated re-entry timing Drive operational excellence within North America Vehicle Logistics' (NAVL’s) recently launched Ford Pro upfitter vehicle management process, including the democratization and utilization of Cognosos real-time tracking modules Benchmark industry leading RFID tag technology to improve tracking vehicles within Ford’s distribution network (plant side & non-plant side inventory) Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to resolve daily operational and Freight Verify issues that affect deliveries and logistics performance Deliver world class customer satisfaction by shipping vehicles from assembly plants to dealerships at 85% on-time or better and achieve industry leading vehicle aging and transit time dwell Consistently refine Ford / Freight Verify estimated time of arrival (ETA) AI algorithms to ensure vehicles' transport plans are as accurate as possible Develop opportunities to actively identify and mitigate potential vehicle mis-shipments leveraging the Freight Verify platform Design, implement, and drive utilization of operational KPI metrics / dashboard within Freight Verify across all NAVL transportation service providers Lead the field team efforts, actions, and projects to reduce inventory dwell at various Ford destination rail facilities, origin plants, ports of entry, upfitters, and in-transit repair dealers Monitor and reconcile inventory flow and vehicle aging issues within Ford’s distribution network Successfully communicate and present to Senior Ford Leadership, on a regular weekly/monthly basis, within MP&L’s Business Control Center (BCC)
