Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Outbound Operations Manager,2nd shift to work full time at our 500,000-square-foot distribution center in Midway, Kentucky. The role will be primarily responsible for the following: coordinating and ensuring operations are meeting or exceeding customer service levels and financial goals; and ensuring consistent communications are established across functional teams within the distribution center as well as with our Customer Service team. Second shift operates from 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. Candidates should have general experience utilizing sophisticated WMS/WCS and other automated systems and equipment, including RF equipment, sortation, put-to-light conveyor systems and forklifts. 

A day on the job looks like this: 

Plan and monitor daily labor needs based on immediate and forecasted order and unit volumes Ensure all orders and receipts are processed in an efficient, accurate and timely manner, making sure proper procedures and training are provided to hourly associates Work to maintain high level of associate morale and recognition; manage annual turnover rate to acceptable levels Monitor staffing levels with Site Director and Human Resource Manager to ensure adequate staffing for present and future needs; actively participate in the hiring process Maintain a working knowledge of and comply with all company policies and procedures Monitor standard procedures and recommend new procedures when necessary to ensure that the overall operation runs effectively Consult with Site Director and Human Resources to ensure consistent use and enforcement of facility and department policies and procedures Work closely with supervisors and lead personnel to improve the quality and effectiveness of the overall operation; set and drive toward continuous improvement goals Contribute to an effective safety and security program and ensure compliance from warehouse associates Oversee the development of associates by ensuring they are cross-trained and given the proper tools to do their jobs so that they can contribute to the total operation 

Qualifications

College degree or 5+ years’ equivalent experience required Minimum 5+ years within a high-volume automated distribution center or break-bulk LTL terminal Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet, work independently, make decisions and take appropriate action Ability to manage a team of individuals with differing levels of skill to enable them to achieve performance and quality standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where multitasking is expected Excellent problem-solving and follow-up skills Strong attention to detail Must be able to drive Dock Stocker and Reach Truck
