Outpatient Pharmacy Tech - New Victor , NY location !

Full Time. Hours between 7am and 6pm Mon-Fri and rotating Saturday mornings 9-1pm.

 

Main Function:

Assists in the nonprofessional and clerical aspects of managing and operating the outpatient functions of the department. All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).

Required Job Specific Competencies:

Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information. Demonstrates flexibility in decision-making and prioritizing assignments. Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements. Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Information Systems (Pharmacy) and QS/1 (pharmacy outpatient system), as well as the ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Word and Excel. Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system’s goals and expectations. Cashier/POS Delivery: Retrieves order, verifies patient information, rings out orders, and opening/closing procedures. Electronic Medical Record: Adds patient information to computer, inputs prescriptions into computer, processes refills and refill requests, basic insurance billing. Filling/Preparation of Medication: Basic insurance billing, measures and fills containers with medications, ensures proper medication storage, re-stocks shelves. Performs a variety of routine duties requiring the use of some judgement. Daily schedule Monday through Friday rotating shifts between 8:00-6:00pm. Rotating weekends, every 4th weekend 9:00-1:00pm. PTO request required for ALL TIME OFF (requires prior approval and notice).

Qualifications:

High School education or equivalency required. Pharmacy Technician certification preferred. NYS Pharmacy Technician license preferred. 1-2 years pharmacy experience preferred.

Contact with Others:

Daily contact with Health System personnel and customers. Impeccable customer service and attitude is always expected within the workplace or when representing the Health System.

Pay Range: $17.61 - $21.00

Starting Pay: Based on experience
