Title: Outpatient Registered Dietitian II

Facility: St. Joseph's Children's Hospital

Responsibilities:

Responsible to provide optimal medical nutrition therapy to patients, individuals or groups through comprehensive nutrition assessment and counseling for disease management, treatment and/or prevention.Manages appointment schedule and administrative duties, leads one-on-one appointments, group classes and/or in-services for interdisciplinary treatment teams. Coordinates with other service lines whose customers benefit from nutrition intervention. Collaborates with all departments involved in the outpatient appointment process.Provides medical nutrition therapy services to pediatric patients in the Children's Specialty Center at SJCH.

Requirements

Required 3 years clinical related' 2 years -relevant experience with MastersPediatric RD acute or outpatient experience preferred

 

 

 

Education

Required - Bachelors in food and nutrition or a related fieldPreferred Masters in Food or nutrition or a related field

Effective January 1, 2024, a graduate degree is required for those not initially credentialed by 12/31/23. A graduate degree includes a master’s degree, practice doctorate, doctoral degree (e.g., PhD, EdD or, DSc).

 

Certifications

Required Licensure includes Registered Dietitian through CDR and licensure through the State of Florida; in addition to one of the following certifications; Advanced Practitioner Certification in Clinical Nutrition, Certified Lactation Counselor, Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition, Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, Certified Nutrition Support Clinician, Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition, Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition, Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics, Certified Specialist in Gerontological Nutrition, Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Critical Care Nutrition, Board Certified Specialist in Obesity and Weight Management or Nutrition Wound Care Certified. Must maintain 10 hours of continuing credit in specialty area; unless retesting every 5 years is required.Required - RD (Registered Dietitian) - State of Florida
