Job Summary/Overall Objectives
Greets, assists patients, and directs phone calls to the proper area in a professional, efficient manner. Registration of patients using established procedures to initiate medical record, patient accounting, and enters orders into Meditech. All registration processes to be completed with a high degree of accuracy with special attention to the collections of financial information, authorizations and referrals if required and other related requirements. Performs phlebotomy and EKG exams.
Essential Job Functions
Greets patients upon entry to the building. Performs accurate and efficient patient registration data entry into the computer system, proper paperwork is completed and scanned. Ensures ABN’s, referrals, and Insurance authorizations are obtained when indicated. Monitors the patient waiting areas with an awareness of housekeeping and maintenance issues. Takes initiative to enter work orders and communicate to appropriate parties as well as alert supervisor of issues or concerns. Assists the imaging staff and our patients by providing physical assistance or any support necessary to support patient flow/satisfaction. Is a patient advocate by answering any questions they may have during registration and/or apprises them of any delays or information they may require regarding their exam. Accurately obtains quality blood specimens suitable for analysis with minimal recollection rates according to procedures. Performs EKG exams according to established protocols and policies. Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications/Experience (please add any additional requirements)
High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education. Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice. Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience (please add any additional requirements)
Completion of Phlebotomy Training Program or equivalent training Six months experience in a position utilizing medical terminology or one year health care registration and health care insurance knowledge. Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances (please add any additional requirements)
[Healthcare provider CPR Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system Act 33/73 Clearances If no phlebotomy training upon hire, must successfully complete on the job phlebotomy training including a minimum of 100 successful blood draws by the completion of the introductory period. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.). Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
