Output Producer - Reuters

This position will be based in Moscow.

Reuters is looking for a talented television news journalist to join the team in our bureau in Moscow. You will help deliver breaking and planned news coverage to more than 1,000 broadcasters and hundreds of digital outlets around the world. You will have a strong ability to remain focused and organized under pressure and a passion for working with high-performance teams. You should be excited about reporting from Russia and have an ability to work to tight deadlines.

This is a full-time desk position on a shift pattern that involves some weekend work and late shifts.

About the Role

As an Output Producer at Reuters, you will:

Work on day-to-day news coverage and handle breaking news stories as part of the Russia Video team.

Produce tight, well-written accurate news copy to deadline.

Be customer-focused and pitch story ideas which resonate across broadcast and digital platforms.

Be involved in the reporting and production of initiative stories that could be linked to major news, helping to explain the importance/significance of an event.

Produce lifestyle, culture, and arts stories that complement the Video file.

Work alongside colleagues from Text and Pictures to help create a truly unified newsgathering team.  

Uphold Reuters Trust Principles of independence, integrity and freedom from bias.

About You

To be our next Output Producer, you will ideally have:

At least 3 years' experience in professional journalism in a broadcast or agency environment.

Excellent news judgment and a passion for breaking news.

Strong video editing and script writing skills.

A deep understanding of Russia and the wider region.  

Native/fluent Russian – written and spoken. Fluent English - written and spoken.

A clear understanding of the news video needs of major broadcasters and digital clients.

A keen eye for visual storytelling and the ability to edit footage within tight deadlines.

Ability to drive speed and accuracy.

A track record of being a strong and organized team player.

Ability to remain calm under pressure.
