Job Description

SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Academic Services at Bloomfield College of Montclair State University, the Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and management of dual enrollment programs and enrichment programs, enabling high school and non-traditional students to earn college credit and/or enriching experiences. This role involves extensive outreach to schools, community organizations, and various venues to engage community members and/or potential students. The Coordinator will also assist with summer programs tailored for middle school and high school students as well as community members and collaborate closely with campus partners such as Student Affairs and Enrollment Management to ensure a seamless student experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in the planning, development, and execution of dual enrollment and/or enrichment programs.

Coordinate with faculty, academic departments, and administrative offices to ensure program alignment with college policies and academic standards.

Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, academic progress, and program outcomes.

Assist in the development and implementation of summer programs for middle school and high school students as well as community members, providing opportunities for academic enrichment and college readiness.

Coordinate with faculty and staff to design and deliver summer workshops, courses, and activities.

Ensure that summer programs are well-integrated with the academic year offerings, supporting student progression.

Conduct outreach to local middle schools and high schools, community organizations, and non-traditional venues (e.g., community centers, religious institutions, libraries) to promote dual enrollment and academic enrichment opportunities.

Represent the college at community events, fairs, and meetings to engage with community members, potential students and their families.

Develop and distribute promotional materials (brochures, flyers, social media content) to attract participants to the program.

Assist in the development and implementation of summer programs for dual enrollment students, providing opportunities for academic enrichment and college readiness.

Coordinate with faculty and staff to design and deliver summer workshops, courses, and activities.

Ensure that summer programs are well-integrated with the academic year offerings, supporting student progression.

Work closely with the Enrollment Management office to streamline the enrollment process for dual enrollment students.

Collaborate with Student Services, Financial Aid, and Academic Advising to ensure that dual enrollment students have access to necessary resources and support.

Attend large scale Admissions events such as Open Houses, Information sessions, Accepted Students events, etc.

Partner with campus departments to create pathways for dual enrollment students to transition into full-time college students after high school. 

Collaborate with academic advisors and support services to ensure students have access to necessary resources.

Organize orientation sessions, workshops, and information sessions to prepare students for college-level coursework.

Work with local organizations to identify new opportunities for program expansion and student engagement.

Assist in developing agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with partner institutions.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

A minimum of one-year professional experience in higher education.

Experience using student enterprise software.

Knowledge and demonstrated use of social media and networking platforms.

Strong interpersonal, database management, organizational, and communication skills.

Demonstrated experience working with a variety of diverse people (faculty, students, and staff).

Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with high school staff and administration.

Demonstrated ability to present ideas effectively to individuals or groups when given time to prepare.

Ability to travel and work a flexible schedule which may evenings and/or weekends.

PREFERRED:

Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate large-scale recruitment events, such as open houses, college fairs, and informational sessions.

A track record of adaptability and innovative thinking to address changing educational trends and student needs.

Proficiency with advanced CRM systems and data analytics tools to track and manage recruitment efforts efficiently.

Ability to analyze administrative and operational scenarios and reach practical business solutions to optimize available resources.

Demonstrated ability to build an efficient and effective office culture that serves students well and shapes, unifies, and empowers a team to provide the highest levels of customer service.
