The University of Miami Health System, "UHealth", Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Outreach Specialist 3 to work in the Mailman Center.                                                                                       

The Outreach Specialist 3 supports in developing and implementing new and existing public education and outreach programs, serving as a liaison to the community. The incumbent performs a wide variety of duties and demonstrates a high level of professionalism and effectiveness. Moreover, the incumbent utilizes project management skills to organize community outreach activities.  The Outreach Specialist 3 serves as a lead when the Director is unavailable.

Core Responsibilities:                                                                                         

Supports the development and implementation of public education and outreach programs.

Works with community-based organizations to plan promotional educational and other events targeted towards designing an increased awareness in the community.

Assists in publishing activities: writing, editing, budgeting, scheduling, and distribution. Interacts effectively with outside advertising agencies, printers, photographers, and other vendors.

Aids with the preparation and distribution of public health education and navigation manual.

Identifies effective strategies for promoting enrollment in ongoing studies, conducting active and passive recruitment, and in-person and online outreach.

Conducts brief surveys by phone and in community settings.

Aids with compiling data for presentations.

Develops professional relationships with mental health providers, researchers, and community members.

Collaborates with other members of the team on special projects and events.

Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Department Specific Functions:

Attend and actively participate in all community events organized by the Pediatric Department's School Health Initiative, including but not limited to health fairs, school events, and community health workshops.

Represent the Pediatric Department's School Health Initiative professionally, engaging with community members, healthcare professionals, and stakeholders to promote clinic services and health initiatives.

Plan, coordinate, and execute all outreach events in collaboration with the Pediatric Department's School Health Initiative team and community partners.

Maintain comprehensive records of all community events, including participant data, feedback, and outcomes, to evaluate event effectiveness and guide future planning.

Develop and produce a range of outreach promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and digital content, tailored to diverse community audiences.

Ensure accurate and timely distribution of promotional materials through appropriate channels, such as local schools, community centers, and social media platforms.

Oversee the scheduling and logistical arrangements for the Pediatric School Health Initiative program activities, including school and program orientations, screenings, workshops, and other activities required by funders.

Cover all administrative components of the Pediatric School Health Initiative's Medical Director and faculty, including managing communications, preparing programmatic reports, and coordinating with external partners.

Assist with clinical operations initiatives.

Develop and nurture meaningful relationships with various community organizations, key stakeholders, schools' internal leadership, and each of the clinics' multidisciplinary healthcare provider teams to ensure seamless communication between the clinical and administrative components of the program.

Facilitate community outreach initiatives that address specific health needs, promote the availability of pediatric services, and extend the impact of the Pediatric Department's School Health Initiative programs based on each of the schools' patient demographics.

Generates routine monthly reports on outreach activities, event outcomes, and the effectiveness of various programmatic parameters to guide and quantitatively measure program development and enhancements.

Analyze UChart on patient outcomes measurement and quantitative and qualitative feedback from community events to identify trends, assess impact, recommend strategies for enhancing outreach efforts, and prepare and submit funder-specific programmatic reports by contractual due dates.

Execute additional duties and special projects as per the directives of the Medical Director and Lead Pediatrician of the School Health Initiative Clinics to contribute to the achievement of departmental goals and objectives.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS:                                                                                                

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, master’s degrees preferred

Minimum five years of relevant experience 2 years of experience in Medical Program Coordination is required.

Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.

Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Commitment to the University’s core values.

Ability to work independently and in a collaborative environment.

Proficiency in computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office) and Epic

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
