Outside Sales Representative

The Outside Sales Rep is an outside sales role tasked to develop, maintain, and grow relationships with customers. Owns the dealer relationship and buyer relationship with key customers in a defined Distribution Center market, covering Long Island, NYC, and Connecticut. Works independently and is self-directed, while still operating as part of an integrated local sales team focused on delivering value to customers and achieving sales and margin growth expectations. Applies experience to drive growth in scale (i.e., customer base, broader market coverage). Ensures superior value is delivered to customers in support of primary demand efforts. Responsible for promoting and selling Distribution's full range of products, including engineered wood, commodities, and specialty building products.

The DSR role is a remote position, and the candidate must reside within the territory (Long Island, NYC, and Connecticut). The only travel to our Easton, PA office will be on-boarding, monthly sales meetings, and/or other special circumstances.

Accountabilities:

Establishes, cultivates, and protects the dealer relationship and buyer relationship with key customers, typically those greater in size and complexity.Drives development and execution of customer strategies in support of delivering superior value to customers and growing wallet-share and profitability.Uses extensive market knowledge, relationships, and established expertise to seek out opportunities with new and existing customers for Distribution's full range of products.Gathers market intelligence and translates it into valuable input to drive decisions around product mix, pricing, inventory levels and demand outlook. Uses that input to help drive decision-making.Develops and executes marketing and communication plans with customers, including promotions, specials, market pull through activities, and updates to products/pricing/service.

Proven success managing large and complex accounts, including building and maintaining executive relationships, developing programs and promotions, negotiating solutions to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.Strong communications skills (authentic, adaptive, persuasive).Analyzes the customer's business and develops solutions leveraging Distribution products and services.Successfully collaborates within a team environment and reaches across organizational and functional boundaries.Broad level of experience with building materials products. Strong knowledge of Distribution Center's products, their selling features/benefits, and the competitive products around them.Working knowledge of factors influencing profitability.Understands and articulates financial drivers of retail, wholesale, and construction industry.Minimum HS Diploma/GED5 yrs experience with 3 years in building materials distribution outside sales

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $70,000 - $118,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Sales Incentive Program, which offers a quarterly cash bonus.

In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours
