Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard (ASECB) located in Melbourne, FL is searching for an overnight Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency Service!

Responsibilities of an Emergency Veterinary Technician include, but are not limited to:

Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgeryProficient IV catheter placementProficient and accurate drug calculations and administrationQuality nursing and husbandry care of patientsStrong working knowledge of veterinary procedures and pharmacologyPerform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labsPerform and/or participate in all other diagnostics such as radiology, ultrasound, ECG, BP and glucose monitoringAssist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs and weights as well as providing client educationProvide nursing care for in-hospital patients including all DVM requested treatments, diagnostics and medicationsAccurately and completely record all treatmentsConduct pre-admission exams and discharge hospitalized patientsPerform client callbacks as necessaryMaintain legally defensible medical records in cooperation with veterinariansActively engages in Nursing Rounds. Rounds delivered/received at shift changes, anytime a staff member comes/leaves. Rounds will be complete, detailed and relative to patient & client care

You are an experienced Veterinary Technician dedicated to outstanding client service and excellent patient care.You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people that share that same value.You can adapt to the individual needs of each patient, are eager to continue enhancing your skill set, and truly want to make a difference.

Work Hours: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 7pm - 7am
