**** State of Hawaii Guard Card Required****The Overnight Security Supervisor/Manager on Duty is responsible for overseeing all security operations during overnight shifts to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and resort property. This position serves as the primary leadership presence on-site overnight, addressing any issues, responding to emergencies, and maintaining compliance with resort policies and procedures.
Job Description
Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:
• Manage and supervise the overnight security team, ensuring all personnel follow procedures and assignments.
• Conduct shift briefings to communicate updates, priorities, and tasks.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members as needed.
• Monitor and patrol resort grounds, buildings, and public areas to ensure a safe environment.
• Respond promptly to guest or employee concerns, disturbances, or emergencies.
• Investigate and document security incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities, preparing detailed reports.
• Oversee access control for restricted areas and ensure unauthorized individuals are addressed appropriately.
• Act as the first responder during emergencies (e.g., medical situations, fire alarms, or evacuation protocols).
• Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire, and medical personnel when necessary.
• Ensure the overnight team follows established safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Act as the on-site manager on duty, addressing guest concerns, complaints, and special requests professionally.
• Collaborate with other departments to resolve overnight operational issues.
• Maintain a strong, visible presence throughout the property to foster guest confidence and deter incidents.
• Complete nightly activity logs and incident reports accurately and timely.
• Ensure proper documentation of security equipment checks, key management, and inventory controls.
• Review security footage when needed to support investigations.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Display daily professional, courteous, attentive, helpful, and positive attitude towards all guests, fellow employees, and managers.
• Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team to reach common goals.
• Perform other job duties as requested by supervisors/managers as other job duties may be assigned as needed.
• Understand Sonesta’s company and safety policies and maintain compliance with OSHA and the health department requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.
• Professional verbal communication skills.
• Reading and writing abilities to understand departmental correspondence and complete all required departmental documents.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, including dealing with difficult guests.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• State of Hawaii Guard Card Required
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED (or willingness to obtain).
Work Environment:
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Outdoors, some indoors, must be able to work in tropical and a variety of weather conditions.
• Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e., freezers, loading dock
Physical Demands:
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
Expected Hours of Work:
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be
required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
• Must be flexible to work various day and various shifts of the week to include weekends, holidays, days, nights and overnight.
• Ten-to-twelve-hour shifts are sometimes required.
Travel:
• No travel required.
Education and Experience:
• Highschool diploma or GED required.
• Previous hotel experience or resort experience preferred.

Pay Range
$ 32.00-$34.74 Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills, and job specific/overall experience.
