Planning & Delivery (P&D) Introduction 

Planning & Delivery (P&D) supports ASML’s growth trajectory, resolving challenges caused by strong growth in volume and complexity in our systems. 

Within ASML, Planning & Delivery is an unbiased party, balancing demand and requests from customers against a stretched, however realistic view on our capability while also facilitating all good flows in a compliant and cost-effective way. This is done transparently and in close collaboration with all internal P&D interfaces, incl. all ASML factories worldwide.  

Planning & Delivery (P&D) is a global sector consisting of four competences: 1) Strategy & Improvement, 2) Strategic Capacity Preparation, 3) Integral Demand & Supply and 4) Delivery.  

Within the team of Planning & Delivery we have the position Head of Planning & Delivery Taiwan. In this role we combine Planning and Delivery activities for both Linkou and Tainan operations in Taiwan.  

Over the past many years, Linkou Factory has grown tremendously and has become pivotal in realizing ASML’s factory output, fulfill customer demand and drive field operations. Therefore, P&D wants to establish a local Planning & Delivery head to represent Linkou and Tainan operations in their global blueprint. This will allow ASML to benefit from local P&D presence, while leveraging global P&D competence.  

The Head of Planning & Delivery Taiwan will report in to the Global Head of Delivery in Veldhoven (Netherlands).  

Purpose of the Job 

The purpose of this job is to secure Material Availability for global semi-conductor customers and our integration factory while ensuring that goods within the network can be physically moved and stored in a compliant, timely and cost effective manner; meeting our customer needs and agreed upon performance targets.  

You will have a dual role, managing and overseeing both planning and delivery processes for Taiwan (Linkou factory and Tainan factory).  

You will lead a team of ~30 FTEs split into planning and delivery teams. In your planning role, you will be responsible to manage the 0 – 3 year planning horizon for all End-Items, Make & Buy parts, resolving demand & supply gaps, excess inventory, capacity balancing and overall plan reliability. In your delivery role, you will be managing & overseeing the global logistics network of Taiwan Factories, incl. warehousing, 3PL management, reverse logistics, pool management, service operations and cost control.  

Locally, you will be a key representative of P&D in Taiwan towards the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement community; and the Manufacturing community. Globally, you will be the spokesperson and interface for Linkou and Taiwan Factories for P&D Veldhoven; and vice versa you will be the driving force to deploy and maintain global standards, locally.  

 

Role and Responsibilities 

Key responsibilities: 

DELIVERY: 

Management and oversight of Linkou and Tainan logistics infrastructure for both field and factory physical movements in a cost effective manner 

Manage local 3PL relationships, supporting in negotiations for warehousing and logistics contracts in close collaboration with regional service warehouse management teams and global headquarters in Netherlands 

Set up, operate and manage compliant and efficient transport infrastructure with 3PLs that can support future volumes in a sustainable manner within the Global framework 

Work together with executing sectors to drive global harmonization and structural improvement projects 

Support in the new product introduction process to ensure compatibility with transport modes in the future 

 

PLANNING: 

Secure material availability for Linkou and Tainan Factories to support customer needs in most efficient way and balance inventory/cost impacts with performance. 

Ensure seamless planning cascading from finished product to modules and parts in , guiding feedback loops between strategic and tactical planning teams; and in alignment with critical interfaces (Strategic Sourcing & Procurement, Manufacturing, D&E, …) 

Drive a holistic demand and supply plan on tactical (0-3y) horizon; integrating perspectives across end-item and material planning and full integration of NPI and Field requirement 

Understand the risks & opportunities for business plans and drive timely decision making with senior stakeholders  

Drive resolution of escalations and part allocation decisions in unbiased and business-driven fashion 

Closely monitor accuracy and execution of D&S plan both to improve planning quality and methodologies, and to strengthen forecast accuracy to minimize material escalations 

Own the Senior level Demand and Supply review meetings, enabling balancing of demand and supply by facilitating cross-functional adjustments 

Provide thought leadership on planning methodologies and drive regional implementation for Make and Buy parts 

Secure, together with strategic capacity team, capacity requirements to support future needs 

Represent Planning & Delivery in the PGP (Product Generation Process) by securing relevant deliverables in ASML development process to support introduction of new technology. 

 

Education and experience 

15+ years experience in the High Tech industry, having obtained extensive and in-depth understanding of complex supply chain processes.  

Experience with complex supply chains with strong engineering focus. 

Extensive experience and understanding of Supply Chain Planning and Logistics 

Extensive leadership experience managing senior/board level stakeholders  

Experience in Transformation Management and Program Management. 

Background within the Semiconductor industry is preferred.
