The Physician Assistant (PA), under the direction of the Attending Physician, will assist in providing medical and/or surgical care of the department patients in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. S/he assists the supervising provider in the management of patients, performing evaluations, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. The PA reports all patient interactions to the supervising physician in support of providing quality, efficient, continuous and cost-effective patient care for NAH.
ResponsibilitiesCommunication
Demonstrates knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.Consults with colleagues, supervising physicians, specialists, referral providers and other healthcare professionals.

Participates in performance improvement initiatives in support of practice improvement.Participates in the development of policies and procedures.Participates in healthcare quality committees.Participates in Quality Assurance programs; audits advanced practice healthcare techniques.Serves as first contact person for nursing staff, medical staff, social service, pastoral care, and other hospital departments regarding the management of service patients.

Master's of Science Degree in Physician Assistant- Required
Graduate from a university program approved by the Accreditation Review commission on education for the Physician Assistant and Nationally Certified as a Physicians Assistant- Required
Certification & Licensures
Certification by NCCPA- Required
AZ State Licensure as Physician Assistant- Required
BLS (American Heart Association)- Required
ACLS- Required if practicing in Hospital setting
Fingerprint Clearance Card application number- Required upon hire
Fingerprint Clearance Card- Required within 90 days of hire
Experience
Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
