Job Summary
Performs tasks related to the processing, sterilization, and distribution of surgical linen packs. Processes, sterilizes, stores, and dispenses linen packs to meet the needs of CAMC Health Systems, Inc., and its outside contracts and to maintain proper inventory levels.
Responsibilities
• Prepare specific surgical linen packs and package them for sterilization with minimal supervision. Strictly adheres to departmental dress code. • Correctly load sterilizers, adjust controls, and observe graphs and gauges throughout each cycle with minimal supervision. • Record all pertinent data according to sterilization procedures. • Develop and apply knowledge of principles of sterilization and disinfection in performance of routine procedures. • Perform tasks related to the storage and distribution of sterile supplies according to accepted policy and procedure. • Observe safety and infection control policies and procedures. • Contribute to the maintenance of a professional environment. • Actively participate in cost containment measures and productivity improvement measures. • Maintain satisfactory attendance record. • Contribute to the Quality Assurance program. • Participate in the annual physical inventory. • Maintain proper inventory levels. • Ensure appropriate department charges and credits are issued and processed immediately. • Complete all required reports and studies in a timely and accurate manner. • Inspect equipment and supplies utilized within the department, requesting the maintenance of equipment as necessary, to ensure the safe and proper operating condition of all equipment. Document same to CamPack manager. • Assist the manager in assuring the accrediting body requirements for the department are met. • Inspect materials to be used for defects, detrimental wear as pertains to quality, and staining. • Must be able to push and pull heavy carts and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.

Education
• High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Experience: 6 - 12 Months Central Supply Tech, Laundry or Pack or related
Substitution: 5 years related experience may substitute for High School Diploma
