The packaging engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining all supplier packing and material presentation to the factory. This requires collaboration with engineering, quality, supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing. Supplier packaging will be a significant portion of the total cost of ownership model.
Essential Duties:
Develop and Implement Optimal Supplier Packaging PolicyDevelop in collaboration with the inventory analyst packaging models for all raw materials supporting the plan for every part (PFEP) and total cost of ownership (TCO) modelsTravel to the supply base to understand inbound materials and needed packagingDevelop monitoring tools to ensure and communicate supplier adherence to the supplier packaging policyDevelops and executes test methods, capability studies and protocols for packaging related improvements. Creates or validates packaging related SOPs and Work Instructions. Provides training for appropriate personnel performing packaging activitiesDevelop policy for preservation of materials for service requirementsSupport New Product Introduction Collaborate with project management and supplier sourcing to ensure all new product sourced has the correct packaging specificationPresent supply chain related information to internal and external stakeholders;Coordinate communication activities that highlight and publicize plans, goals and results.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and statistical analysis software;Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP.Ability to work creatively and analytically, both independently and in a team oriented, problem solving environmentTeaching, training, coaching, or mentoring experience;Experience working with International Companies and in a matrix organization.
