The packaging and production systems and processes facilitate the final packaging and localization of generic semi-finished products, received from various manufacturing sites within the organization, to meet local language and configuration requirements. By executing against corporate and business policies and procedures the packaging engineering group ensures that packaging and label designs are developed, documented, inspected, qualified and implemented in a consistent and appropriate business method as required by corporate quality standards and good manufacturing practices. The packaging engineer has a strong relationship to other functional packaging engineering groups in the various Operating Units throughout the corporation for which final packaging is done at the Heerlen warehouses. By these relationships packaging engineer participates in the development of tools, policies, procedures, and training necessary to ensure that the practices are consistent within the business and that label and package designs meet the standards as defined for the distribution center(s). **Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:** + End-item implementation: System (SAP) setup, develop, create and document operator instructions and process documentation + Label Qualification: Initiating Label Qualification Reports to verify if a label consisting of the required text, symbols and variable data elements are printed correctly within the production environment + System Administration: Document, control, review, and release design documentation, as well as control the implementation of these designs into production support systems such as ERP system, Print system, and Traceability system + Production Support: Resolve any discrepancy encountered by production that needs resolution within system administration or process documentation + Projects: Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects within the department + Process improvements/automations: Seek for opportunities to improve the efficiency of the setup process or build in additional quality checks to improve the level of quality **Required Knowledge and Experience:** + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Product Design or equivalent fields + Good command of English and Dutch language + Affinity with IT subjects + Accuracy always, also with repetitive work + Analytical skills, data analyses + Customer friendly communication skills and pro-active attitude Ability to be innovative and passionate, to see opportunities and challenge the status quo, to work independently, multi-task and work in a collaborative (multi-discipline) environment, knowledge of ERP systems (preferable SAP), good MS Excel skills and product/Industry knowledge and ability to document, control, review and release design documentation are considered advantages for this role. **Physical Job Requirements** The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.  **Benefits & Compensation** **Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package** A commitment to our employees lives at the core of our values.
