Reporting to the Director, Product & Packaging Engineering, the Packaging Engineer II is responsible for coordination of all duties required to support product development, drafting primary, on-shelf packaging for retail. The individual in this role will be responsible for developing samples and prototypes to share with our external suppliers. **Responsibilities** + Design CAD packaging specifications. + Provide coaching directionally to other packaging engineers and support resources. + Lead process or cost improvement efforts, researching new technology and materials with suppliers. + Develop packaging BOM’s, packaging instructions, and testing requirements. + Obtain prototype samples to evaluate form, fit, and function. + Coordinate and communicate product and master carton dimensions. + Determine appropriate GTINs, carton markings, and label formats. + Validate, review, and audit preproduction and production golden samples per ACCO specifications and quality standards for manufactured and purchased finished goods + Review supplier verification forms to ensure compliance with carton labeling and scanning conformance. + Develop packaging files using TOPS software for ideal pallet/container layouts. + Communicate and work across multi-functional teams both domestically and internationally. + Execute and manage document control of packaging documents in the Product Center. + Design artwork by utilizing carton markings on case “tertiary” cartons. **Qualifications** + 4-year technical degree, preferably in Packaging Engineering. + 4 or more years of experience in a manufacturing or converting environment. + Alternatively, a position with corrugate, structural engineering, merchandising, manufacturing, or analytical functions would be acceptable. + Significant knowledge of corrugate standards and materials, structure, or sustainable materials + Prior knowledge of paper or corrugate converting and our product line is desirable. + Strong CAD Design experience (Artios CAD and/or Adobe Illustrator background) + Experience with SAP. + Product Center background is preferred. + Experience with Microsoft Office Programs and Tops is ideal. + Ability to travel up to 10% annually, visiting manufacturing facilities and suppliers. + Local Candidates only: Must be open to Hybrid role in Lake Zurich, IL Headquarters \#LI-Hybrid **About Us:** You know our brands.
