Job Purpose:
Packaging Development is a very critical function within Unilever Nutrition. Our plans cannot be achieved without our packaging capabilities. It is key that we support our community by providing them access to the Packaging Skills and Excellence to be future fit and ensure that we continue to deliver best practices in Packaging Development.

In the Packaging Excellence Technologist role, you will need to work closely with the Nutrition Packaging Development Leaders globally to understand the Packaging skills and competency gaps in the team and take the actions to fill in this gap. You will build and deploy the Packaging development/training roadmap through multiple training formats including virtual and face to face courses and online self-help training materials. You will also build relationships with different functions and external ecosystems which includes learning providers and professional institutions, that’s why stakeholder management and business partnering skills are key for this position.
You will be responsible for coordinating the key learning programmes for foundation and operational levels, working with different Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the team & other functions, and embedding skills development in a learning environment suitable for a world class organisation.
You will make sure that knowledge and experience are shared effectively for driving measurable performance improvement within the Global Nutrition Packaging Community.
What will your main responsibilities be?
Coordinate and gather the best practices and establish the ways of workings across global and BU teams.
Support the Nutrition Packaging Community to assess their skills gaps and plan their training plan in alignment with their Frustration Free Packaging (FFP) – “no one size fits all”.
Ensure that the packaging training & information (materials, skills & processes) are available to enable Packaging Developers to deliver.
Coordinate with the Global & Business Unit teams Packaging Development Leaders for all the responsibilities.
Ensure that the training plans are captured in the Nutrition Packaging Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Work with external and internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to develop future fit trainings and ensure that the right SME is in place to close the learnings/skills gaps within the team, through specific course or learning programmes.
Continue supporting an integrated plan for raising the floor of how we do Nutrition Packaging for new beginners e.g. Training Catalogue.
Work closely with the Nutrition Packaging Developers to ensure that the best practices are incorporated into One Unilever Packaging Process and communicated properly.
Explore new ways of building skills through the introduction of new approaches and learning platforms e.g. LinkedIn.
Identify the optimum ways for creating and delivering learning content to ensure maximum impact and relevant focus across Nutrition Packaging Community, no-one-size-fits-all approach: “Virtual-only”, “Virtual-first”, “Face-2-Face”.
Be an active member of ‘One Packaging R&D Centre’ global community and other relevant learning communities.
Work closely with the communications partners as part of raising awareness of learning and development opportunities using engaging tools and campaigns to ignite interest and engagement in communities.
What you will need to succeed:
Experience & Qualifications:
2-5 years of experience in FMCG (preferably in Packaging Development/R&D/SC).
Engineering/Industrial Design/Packaging Development degree.
Passion for people development.
Working with teams in different geographies & time zones; multiple culture & multi-functional understanding.
