SALARY: $29.60/hour, bonus eligible
+8% shift differential for overnight shift

ROLE SUMMARY: The Packaging Maintenance Technician for Devils Backbone will work within a team of other plant personnel to operate, change over, and perform major/minor maintenance tasks on packaging equipment. They are responsible for meeting production demands while maintaining a safe work environment and producing a quality product. This person will be responsible for conducting training on production processes and equipment. This person will also be responsible for performing, tracking, and scheduling preventative maintenance on all packaging equipment. The Packaging Maintenance Technician will be expected to lead work groups as necessary to fulfill production demands.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform preventative, corrective mechanical, and electrical maintenance across packaging, warehouse, and brewing departments.
Troubleshoots PLC Programming logic to ensure minimum downtime. Ability to program a plus.
Reads and interprets manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Operating industrial equipment such as forklifts, to unload, load, and/or transport packaging materials, raw materials, and finished products.
Operating process control equipment and handling manual activities required to monitor and control the movement of product.
Cleaning production lines, process work areas or other parts of the facility to maintain strict food plant sanitation standards.
Complying with safety policies and procedures; identify and document equipment problems.
Conduct and complete work orders and address issues as they arise.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs, troubleshoots errors on all equipment, and conducts machine setup, when necessary.
Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
5 years minimum experience in manufacturing processes or packaging operations.
Efficient knowledge of specialized equipment, machinery, and operations.
Experience using both a floor jack and fork lift.
Strong mechanical knowledge; skilled in using basic hand and power tools..
Ability to interpret technical bulletins and schematics of equipment related to work.
General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with working in manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and eye for package quality.
