Job DescriptionThe incumbent is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of production department operations which also includes performance of all functions within the department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and report to the VP of Operations all process performance KPIs, and the P&L targets every month and deploy these targets to the next organizational levels.Lead, coach, mentor, motivate and inspire direct reports to achieve an optimum level of performance by consistently demonstrating role model behaviors that includes sense of urgency, accountability, effective communication, teamwork, empathy and results orientation and time managementMaintain employee awareness and adherence to ISO standards and procedures and to all Social Responsibility codes (internal and external) Participate in and satisfactorily complete all required training programs for the assigned position including Compliance TrainingEvaluate and provide training as needed, setting in place a long-term training strategy.Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports in a timely manner. Recommend increases in compensation in accordance with pre-determined guidelines. Supports open door policy and positive counseling process to correct behavioral or performance issues.Keeps a clean facility environment that enhances plant safety and ensure that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner. Have an effective and efficient escalation process at all levels.Implement and maintain the “Hour by Hour” floor performance lean cultureEnsures that all aspects of the Quality Policy and Objectives as well as EHS rules and regulations are understood and enacted.Responsible to drive the Safety culture (behaviors and conditions) in all manufacturing areas.Ensure that supervisors are aware of and adhere to plan safety rules and regulations. Works with the supervisors to develop a safety culture with zero recordable incidents. Ensure the Safety culture is the only option in the plant to behave at all levels. Quality and Customer CarePlan and direct manufacturing decisions driven by the customer expectations and priorities, keeping an effective and efficient operation, and meeting scheduled delivery dates with minimum work in process time and cost factors. Ensure that employees know and understand customer and quality requirements and standards. Set the quality direction to maintain production throughput while meeting/ exceeding quality requirements. Develop and revise production schedules and priorities because of customer requirements, equipment failure, or operating problems. Ensures process corrective actions are addressed in a timely manner and are effective, including conducting audits of effectiveness. Ensure all manufacturing process comply at 100% with the predetermined quality standards and assure employees are trained and have the necessary tools to achieve expectations.Set goals for employees throughout and/or department standards. Coordinate production activities with warehouse, procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of machines and equipment. Consult with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products.Evaluate equipment needs and propose changes to meet site objectives. Identify and develop continuous improvements to production processes with the supervisors and Engineering. Develop and maintain active costs, scrap, and work reduction programs to improve the profit position.Assign employees to work schedules, work centers, and plan appropriate levels based on production needs and capacity.QualificationsBachelor’s or associate degree from a college or universityAt least 5 years related experience in a managerial role; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least 5 years Die Cutting and Folder gluers experience (40” format and 57” format) with brands like, Bobst, K&B, Iberica, SBL, Brausse, others.Excellent interpersonal communications skills are required as well as personal computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software to include Excel, Mail, Word, PowerPoint, and the use of Internet Explorer.
