Your Role:

 

To stage, fill, cap, label, and over pack liquid, powder, and lyophilized products per approved packaging specifications and according to safety and quality protocols.

 

Job Functions:

 

Shift (3rd): Sunday-Thursday 10:30 pm-7 am.  Shift is new, so first months of training will be on 1st or 2nd shift. Complete appropriate packaging documentation per FDA, ISO, and GMP procedures and deliver products to inventory.Fill, cap, and label chemical productsManually fill liquids or powdersIndependently set-up and operate semi-automated fill linesPerform routine cleaning to semi-automated equipmentAssist with the setup and operation of automated fills when neededOrganize and set-up the filling of complex, highly hazardous fillsUtilize semi-automated equipment to fill liquids or powdersFill products utilizing aseptic techniquesPerform fills in environmentally controlled areasFill hazardous productsUtilize pumps to transfer bulk solutionsUse electronic balances to properly weigh materialsFilter bulk material using pumps and in-line filters or vacuum filtersManually torque caps with wrenchesOperate and troubleshoot semi-automated cappersAssist with loading bottles and pack-off during fill line operationsSet up and operate automated labelersHand label as necessaryPack kits when necessaryUse material handling equipment safely to transport materials throughout the buildingClean laboratory glassware and batch tanksFollow all quality and safety procedures. Support quality systemsAssist in training operators on semi-automated filling equipmentFollow safety procedures at all timesDocument all equipment used and verify calibration statusDon, doff, use, and clean PPEBe familiar with hazards common to assigned work and take action to correct unsafe situationsParticipate in required safety activities such as training sessions, meetings, and safety inspectionsDevelop and assist in the implementation of process improvement ideasComply with the requirements of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001Participate in 6S activitiesMaintain good housekeeping and audit readinessFollow Merck Code of Conduct and work well with team members on the floor to meet departmental goalsAssist in training personnel

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma or GED3 + months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Fill, cap, and label chemical products3+ months of experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment3+ months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experienceAbility to do basic math-including metrics and conversionsKnowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOP’s, UOP’sMechanical skills with ability to use pumps, electronic balances, and material handling equipmentTroubleshoot automated packaging equipmentStrong written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skillsAbility to train others and work in a team settingExperience with hand tools
