Your Role:

MilliporeSigma has an opening at our Ewing site as a Packaging Operator II.  In this role you stage, fill, cap, label, and over pack liquid, powder, and lyophilized products per approved

packaging specifications and according to safety and quality protocols. Complete appropriate packaging documentation per FDA, ISO, and GMP procedures and deliver products to inventory.

 

 

Fill, cap, and label chemical productsLead/coordinate filling of complex custom fillsSet up and operate semi-automated and automated equipmentPerform routine cleaning to automated and semi-automated fill linesTroubleshoot semi-automated and automated filling equipmentEscalate line malfunctions, maintenance, and repair issues to minimize downtimeOrganize and set-up the filling of complex, highly hazardous fills using equipmentAssist with the evaluation of new filling equipmentContribute packaging expertise to review of new packaging business opportunitiesSetup, operate and clean lyophilizersManually fill liquids or powders when necessaryUtilize semi-automated equipment to fill liquids or powdersFill products utilizing aseptic techniquesPerform fill in environmentally controlled areasFill hazardous productsUtilize pumps to transfer bulk solutionsUse electronic balances to properly weigh materialsFilter bulk material using pumps and in-line filters or vacuum filtersOperate automated and semi-automated cappers / torquersTroubleshoot automated and semi-automated cappersManually torque caps with wrenches as necessary / torquersAssist with loading bottles and pack-off during fill line operationHand label as necessarySet up and operate automated labelersUse material handling equipment safely to transport materials throughout the building

 

Hours of this position will be 1:30pm- Midnight; Monday-Thursday.

 

Who You Are

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires a High School diploma or equivalent. A college course in chemistry, other related science or 12 months previous experience weighing chemicals is preferred.Requirement of at least 6 months chemical weighing, related laboratory, filling or packaging experience. At least 6 months experience with automated fill lines or semi-automated filling equipment is required. Minimum of 6 months experience in ISO/GMP regulated environment is desirable.
