Here at Mars we have an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking employment to come and join our factory team as a Packaging Operator
The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines, whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained during the production of dry petfood. The Packaging Operator will also play a pivotal role in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects.
All positions are 12-hour, rotating schedules.
Days 6:00 am to 6:30 pm; Nights 6:00 pm to 6:30 am- 4 days on and 4 days off. Shift will rotate from days to nights every 12 weeks.

The Packaging Operator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of automated packing machines, in the production of dry petfood. Key duties include:
Machine Setup and Maintenance: Setting up automated packing machines, loading packing materials, making machine adjustments, and ensuring proper sanitation.Troubleshooting and Repairs: Clearing machine jams, reworking defective packaging, troubleshooting machine faults, and maintaining glue and ink supplies.Quality Assurance: Performing and documenting quality checks throughout the packaging process. Ensures compliance with all Quality, Food Safety, and Legislative standards.Safety Practices: Following safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, to safely conduct equipment operations and routine maintenance.Equipment Management: Completing Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication (CIL) tasks according to daily, weekly, and monthly schedules to maintain equipment functionality and cleanliness.This role demands attention to detail, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to manage equipment autonomously.
The position holder is trained to perform other jobs consistent with the skill level and physical demands of this position.
