A Day in the Life:
The Packaging Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of packaging equipment, ensuring quality product packaging, and maintaining a safe work environment. This role includes performing preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and adhering to production schedules. The operator will also be responsible for loading/unloading trucks and railcars, and transferring oil products within the facility.
Positions Details:
This role requires a flexible work schedule, which may include 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, off-shifts, weekends, and rotations as required by production demands. Specific scheduling details will be discussed during the interview process. Pay Rate: $25.70 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:
Packaging Operators play a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring products are packaged correctly and efficiently for shipment and sale. This often involves operating and maintaining packaging machinery, troubleshooting equipment issues, and adhering to strict quality and safety standards. They may also be responsible for material handling tasks, inventory management, and maintaining accurate production records. Packaging Operator positions frequently involve shift work and require the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe work environment, identify and report hazards, and promote safe practices among colleagues. Operate packaging equipment efficiently and effectively according to standard operating procedures, ensuring products are packaged, labeled, and palletized according to specifications. Perform routine quality checks on packaging and products. Troubleshoot and resolve packaging line issues. Operate a forklift for warehouse tasks, including loading, unloading, and receiving. Load and unload railcars and trucks, connecting and disconnecting loading/unloading lines. Transfer oil products throughout the facility, pump and/or dump ingredients into oil products, and collect product samples for analysis. Collect inventory of storage tanks and interpret tank inventories, valve, and pump settings to ensure correct product handling. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain required documentation for quality and operational systems. Identify and handle off-quality products and packaging supplies. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on packaging equipment. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisors, contributing to the overall efficiency of plant operations.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Ability to read and write English. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Excellent attendance record. Strong commitment to maintaining a clean and sanitary workspace, as well as high standards of personal hygiene. High level of integrity and honesty. Adaptability to changing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to perform repetitive tasks efficiently and accurately. Positive attitude and receptiveness to feedback. Willingness to learn new skills and procedures. Customer-focused mindset. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
