What you will do:   

Position Summary: Responsible for leading initiatives related to the packaging of products sold and their successful delivery in the $5.5B CHVAC Americas business unit. The focus will be on the standardization & optimization of packaging materials and methods to drive safe handling, product protection and low cost.  Responsibilities include establishing lowest total delivered cost shipping strategies and leveraging transportation options to satisfy our customers.  This position will work with product management, engineering, suppliers, manufacturing plants and distribution operations to ensure all stakeholders are involved in standardization and elimination of shipping damage within a total cost perspective.  This role extends from our customers through logistics, manufacturing and finally engineering.  This position will report to the CHVAC Americas Vice President of Quality and Customer Experience.

Analysis of customer feedback and distribution office feedback on packaging and shipping related issues that negatively impact the customer experience. Develops documented packaging, labeling and shipping standards and methods for use on outbound shipments including coordination of packaging related projects with the Packaging Engineering team within the business unit.  Special attention to both handling safety/ergonomics and product protection is required.Develops freight damage claims management initiatives and leverages the Concession Functional Leader and the EZ claims process to decrease waste and assist our customers through freight claims submitted on their behalf.Implement tracking database to capture scope of customer impact including development of processes that improve the customer experience by reducing pain points that customers and distribution offices are currently experiencing.Establish methods and standard work that make the freight claims process easier to navigate for our customers and our offices.Works with our transportation carrier partners to align CHVAC Americas packaging schemes to withstand transportation & handling.Establish a clearly defined packaging project pipeline through prioritization of opportunities based on total cost basis and input from our customer base.  This includes the reporting of status and driving accountability through completion of projects to benefit our customers.Works with 3rd Party Packaging operations to ensure processes are standardized and provide support to drive continuous improvement in quality and productivity.Works with Enterprise Procurement and SBU logistics to identify poor packaging & labeling practices within supply base and drive improvements across our portfolio of products and services.Works with Product Management to identify the most optimal methods to package products and still maintain strong branding.Provides over site to ensure that all packaging related data is properly & accurately enriched in Oracle & WindChill ERP’s by Engineering and Plant teams.  This includes critical to customer related data including weights & dimensions.Provides quality oversight to packaging productivity opportunities throughout the supply chain including establishing defined test criteria and go forward testing standards prior to project implementation.Provides coordination of packaging related supplier recovery efforts when supplier related issues result in financial loss to the SBU or to our customers.Works with distribution center to identify optimal storage media design and material handling methods aligned with box sizes and weights.Benchmarks inside and outside of Trane Technologies for best developed packaging practices.

 

Where is the work: 

This position has been designated as a Hybrid work schedule with work performed onsite 3 days each week. 

This is a Remote position. 

What you will bring: 

Bachelor’s degree requiredMinimum 6 years of experience in packaging or supply chain field.Intermediate level computer & analytical skills (MS Office, Oracle, SAP, etc…)Knowledge of packaging, distribution operations and lean tools.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Presentation / negotiation skills at a high level within internal and external organizationsCustomer service orientation.

 

Compensation:   

Base Pay Range (for Colorado Residents): $80,000-$125,000

Additional Compensation: up to 10% bonus
