How you'll have an impact at Kinder’s: We are seeking a Packaging Sourcing and Supply Chain Analyst to support the Sourcing & Supply Chain Manager in driving efficient sourcing, cost management, and supplier relationships across packaging materials. This role combines elements of purchasing, analysis, and packaging engineering to ensure high-quality, cost-effective packaging solutions. The ideal candidate will excel in vendor negotiation, packaging specifications, and data analytics and take a proactive approach to process optimization within the packaging category.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Supplier Management:

Collaborate with the Packaging Sourcing Manager to identify, qualify, and manage suppliers for packaging materials.Assist in negotiating contracts, including pricing, quality standards, and delivery timelines.Evaluate supplier performance and drive improvements based on quality, cost, and delivery metrics.

Packaging Analysis & Cost Optimization:

Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for savings in packaging materials and recommend solutions.Work closely with suppliers to evaluate materials and designs, ensuring alignment with Kinder’s sustainability and quality goals.Participate in supplier audits and process improvements, ensuring compliance with Kinder’s standards and industry regulations.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Partner with the Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams to optimize packaging specifications and resolve issues.Support New Product Development (NPD) by assisting in the selection and qualification of new packaging materials and suppliers.

Data Analytics & Reporting:

Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost fluctuations to provide insights for strategic sourcing decisions.Translate finished goods forecasts to quantify packaging volume requirements for short- and long-term supply planning.Maintain bill of materials data integrity.Maintain contract management database for packaging materials.Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate sourcing performance, project status, and cost savings initiatives to senior management.Track and analyze packaging transitions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Packaging Engineering, Business, or related field.2+ years of experience in procurement, packaging, or supply chain analytics.Strong analytical and negotiation skills with experience in cost analysis and budgeting.Familiarity with packaging materials and industry trends; experience in a food or consumer goods environment is a plus.Packaging engineering background highly preferred.Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data visualization tools is a bonus.Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.Extremely detail-oriented.

Location & Travel

The position will be based out of our 20,000 sq. foot office in Walnut Creek, CA. We strongly believe in the power of culture and community and have a hybrid work structure with 4 days in the office on a weekly basis to encourage collaboration and personal connections that will allow us to better serve our customers and consumer and to have more fun. Fridays are flex days with employees having the opportunity to choose to be either in the office or to work from home based on what makes most sense for them.

Some travel will be required for this role on a periodic basis. Typical travel includes industry conferences, trade shows and key customer visits.
