Your Role:

MilliporeSigma in St. Louis, MO is seeking a 3rd Shift Packaging Supervisor to lead a team to achieve daily objectives thru employee interaction and participation.

Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and supervise daily work activities.Monitor daily resources and schedule staff accordingly to meet demand requirements.Become trained and serve as Emergency Response Team Member on 3rd shift.Oversee the packaging of products according to all established procedures and specifications to meet all quality standards, regulations and guidelines.Maintain employee relations through effective communication by holding regular team meetings and area walkthroughs.Lead, initiate, promote, and actively participate in process improvement initiatives.Help determine staffing needs/requirements for the packaging department.Participate in talent selection process by reviewing candidate resumes and assisting with interviews.Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring safety policies and procedures are followed.Review and revise departmental standard operating procedures as required.Mentor, train, coach, and develop employees on new and existing processes and procedures.Establish goals and expectations for direct reports.Evaluate employee performance and communicate performance standings regularly.Encourage/assist development toward individual career objectives or potential consistent with company needs.Represent packaging department during internal and external audits.Collaborate closely with other teams to assist in the implementation and validation of new process equipment.

 

Work Location: 545 South Ewing Avenue St. Louis, Missouri

 

Shift: 3rd Shift; Sunday thru Thursday; 11:00 PM-7:30 AM.  *Shift is new, so training will occur on 1st or 2nd shift until 3rd shift go live date.  

 

Physical Attributes:

May sit, stand, walk, reach above the shoulder, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl for short periods of time.May occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and more than 50 pounds assisted.Wear Personal Protective Equipment, “PPE,” including but not limited to respiratory protection, hard hats, glasses/goggles, chemical-resistant suits, gloves, safety shoes.Involves the use of close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and adjusting focus.Work area may occasionally be wet, humid, abnormally hot, or cold.Occasionally working near moving mechanical parts.

 

Who You Are:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in any field with 1+ years of working experience

-OR-

Associates degree in any field with 2+ years of working experience and 1+ year of experience in a lead role position

-OR

High School diploma or GED with 3 years of working experience and 2+ years of experience in a lead role position

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Leadership experienceExperience with automated filling equipmentPackaging, industrial, or scientific/laboratory experience or trainingExcellent planning and organizational skillsExperience in a leadership role with demonstrated leadership abilityGreat interpersonal skillsFamiliarity with safe chemical handling methods and practicesKnowledge of quality systems and guidelinesFamiliarity with packaging equipment and processesProficient in general computer use and software such as Microsoft Suite
