Our Canandaigua Winery is hiring! Come be a part of the team and learn the beverage industry as a Packaging Technician!  We are looking for 1st shift operations, the hours are 04:45am – 03:15pm

 

Join our dynamic team at E & J Gallo Winery as a Packaging Technician, where innovation, quality, and sustainability are at the heart of everything we do. As a Bottling Production Associate, you will play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring that our renowned products meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In this role, you will be responsible for uncasing empty glass bottles onto bottling line conveyors, inspecting labels, operating manual fillers, and palletizing finished products. You'll also manage discarded materials and recycling, operating the trash compactor to maintain a clean and organized production floor.

 

Operating under general supervision, you'll handle various pieces of equipment safely and efficiently to meet production goals. Your role will involve assisting with production changeovers and maintaining a workspace that complies with Food Safety standards. Routine production reporting and quality checks will be part of your daily tasks, ensuring that all in-process and final production quality control measures are consistently met.

Effective communication with team members, leadership, and other departments is key, as is maintaining satisfactory attendance and timeliness.

What You Will Need: 

High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate; or one year of experience in wine production or manufacturing. Required to be physically capable of executing any job tasks within the bottling room or cellar operations. Must be able to repetitively lift and uncase glass cases onto a conveyer belt. Required to work any assigned shift (day, swing, graveyard, 5x8, 4x10); required to work weekends and overtime when necessary. Required to wear a respirator when necessary. Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Required to work at heights and in confined spaces. Required to comply with company GMP policies. Skilled in writing simple correspondence. Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers. Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description. Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart: 

Experience showing versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities. Experience operating a forklift.

Compensation:

Hiring Salary Range Posted:$15.70 - $21.15 per hour Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data Shift differentials offered!
