Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

The Packaging Unit Coordinator is a critical role that helps influence and motivate our team to tackle new challenges, realize their full potential, and facilitate a positive and engaging work environment. You will laterally lead a team of associates to drive results in day-to-day operations. This individual will help lead career development plans, drive continuous improvement, ensure a high level of quality for our customers and maximize cross-functional relationships to realize department objectives in alignment with organizational goals. You will collaborate with team members across the organization and use Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methods to improve the overall safety, quality, and delivery of the department and to facilitate cost-savings projects.

A Day in the Life:

Lead the team in promoting world class safety.

Cultivate a right first time quality culture by leading investigations into process and product failures.

Identify and implement corrective and preventive actions for quality and safety incidents.

Help establish productivity goals and get results to achieve targets.

Review metrics to benchmark and drive team performance.

Recommend and coordinate improvement activities related to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Encourage team member engagement and involvement to drive Practical Process Improvements (PPI) and apply Lean methodologies to realize process efficiencies.

Formulate and carry out a production plan and labor strategy to meet customer demands.

Participate in internal and external audits, respond to audit observations, and implement appropriate corrective actions.

Ensure coordination and administration of training.

Keys to Success:

Education:

High school diploma or GED required

Experience: 

3+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related field.

Basic math skills.

Experience/exposure to working in a cleanroom environment preferred.

Experience in a GMP environment and pharmaceutical production or packaging preferred.

Mechanical competence/proficiency.

Knowledge of packaging equipment set up and adjustments, packaging formats, and packaging documentation is preferred..

Understanding of applicable SOPs, GMPs, LPRs, and quality test methods.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 

Ability to communicate.

Ability to read work instructions and procedures/manuals/diagrams.

Be willing to work overtime as required.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

Ability to operate a walk behind forklift (walkie stacker).

Position requires wearing personal protective equipment, including, but not limited to, various styles of dust masks or respirators, safety glasses, safety shoes, and scrubs or modified gowning.

Ability to hand scoop 5 lbs. intermittently.

Ability to manipulate/handle drums weighing up to 60kg and lift containers and/or tooling weighing up to 20kg intermittently.
