**Job Description**
The Packer position involves working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.
You will be responsible for verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as preparing items for shipment. Our products target the commercial food packaging, food service, and disposable consumer products industries.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assemble, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material.
+ Receive, unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material.
+ Arrange for the transportation of products.
+ Compare shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental impact.
+ Compute amounts such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges using a computer or price list.
+ Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
+ Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
+ Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
+ Examine shipment contents and compare with records such as manifests, invoices, or orders to verify accuracy.
+ Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping using hand tools, power tools, or a postage meter.
+ Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route materials.
+ Record shipment data such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
+ Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
+ Keep and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
+ Maintain a positive attitude.
+ Follow all HACCP and good manufacturing practices.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in inventory management.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Understanding and following basic verbal and written instructions.
+ Effective communication skills to respond to questions from various levels within the organization.
+ Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
+ Ability to perform basic visual quality inspections on products.
+ Maintaining the production pace of other team members.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Steel toe work boots.
+ Ability to pass a BG check and drug screen.
+ Utilize various equipment as needed to perform duties.

**Work Environment**
This role is based in a manufacturing/production facility that is non-climate controlled. The temperature inside the facility can vary with the weather outside. When it is hot outside, it can be steamy inside, and when it is cold outside, it is usually comfortable inside due to the heat produced by the machines. The job requires standing for long periods, typically 12 hours a day, and may involve repetitive motions, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of materials and material containers. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. **Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of DUBLIN, Virginia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.75/hr.
