Job Title: **Paint Technician** Job Type: **Full time; contract** Location: **Wichita, KS** Pay Rate: **$27.00 - $40.00 per hour** **Job Description** **In your role, you will** + Adhere to General Work Requirements + Read engineering drawings to identify the tasks to be performed in preparation for the application of chemicals and paint to aircraft surface + Apply safety absorbent to hangar floor and spray aircraft surface with stripper to remove all paint + Assist with moving aircraft to appropriate bay + Mask, unmask, and remask appropriate areas of aircraft surface to ensure complete protection of windows and other areas susceptible to damage + Remove stripper, excess paint, and/or contaminants using water, solvents, airblower, and/or brushes + Sand, grind, and buff polished areas of aircraft surface, apply putty to body dents, and replace sealer in preparation for the application of primer and paint + Apply alodine to aircraft surface using spray equipment + Assist with the application of primers to aircraft surface + Assist with painting parts, components, and/or aircraft surface + Assist with checking for imperfections after painting and striping application using discrepancy sheet and documented squawks and perform touch-up work as required + Document work performed per Inspection Procedures Manual (IPM) + Perform above tasks in support of production, flight test, and other outside areas as required + May perform Designated Inspector (DI) function as qualified by QA + Assist other employees in the performance of their duties within area(s) of qualification + Apply base coat of paint, stripes, decals, and vinyl appliques to aircraft surface **As our ideal candidate** + You typically have 4 years of experience, which must include preparation and painting aircraft or equivalent + You have the ability to read and interpret engineering documents, customer instructions, and maintenance manuals **Pay Details:** $27.00 to $40.00 per hour Benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
