Position Overview:
Siemens Mobility is seeking to fill a Painter role. The Painter will be responsible for preparing, priming, and top coating rail vehicle parts and interiors for both repair and new paint applications. This role requires a strong understanding of surface preparation and coating techniques, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. This position will be based in Orlando, FL working a Monday – Friday schedule on a daylight shift.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Sand vehicle parts using hand, block, and mechanical methods.Mask and clean surfaces to ensure proper adhesion.Apply primer, undercoating, and topcoats to vehicle parts.Mix paints and coatings as required.Apply specialized coatings such as Tectyl and Convoy.Assist other painters and participate in team-based tasks.Maintain painting equipment and work area.Train and mentor lower-level employees as needed.Minor repairs on train interior equipment. Work under general supervision for routine tasks; detailed instructions provided for new assignments.Exercise judgment within defined procedures to resolve moderate-scope issues.To thrive in this role, you have:
High school diploma or GED.Minimum of 2 years of experience in painting similar materials (i.e. transportation equipment).Ability to read and understand MSDS, TDS sheets, comprehend instructions, memos, and technical documentation.Basic English language skills for reading, writing, and verbal communication.Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, and use hands for handling tools or controls.Must be able to lift/move over 100 pounds occasionally.Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as earplugs, hard hats, respirators, gloves, goggles, coveralls, and steel-toe shoes is required.Why you'll love working for Siemens!

The base salary range for this position in Orlando, FL is $52,400-$70,500. The actual salary/wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
