**The role you’ll contribute:**
This position is designed to provide maintenance and preventive maintenance to the buildings, equipment and grounds to provide a safe and healthful environment. The primary proficiency of this position is in painting, wall covering, and floor covering. Other responsibilities include those of general maintenance (i.e., hanging and finishing drywall, carpentry, ceiling grid, electrical, plumbing, and safety testing.
**The value you’ll bring to the team:**
+ Performs maintenance, repair or replacement of broken parts, adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices as necessary, cleans and lubricates parts. Repairs and maintains building woodwork such as bins, counters, benches, stairs, windows, doors, and ceiling tile. Repairs articles of furniture such as cabinets, chairs, and office equipment. Repairs and maintains valves, showers, toilets, water heaters and other plumbing fixtures, and opens clogged drains. Repairs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
+ Paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, lacquers and redecorates walls, woodwork and fixtures of buildings and facilities using appropriate tools and techniques.
+ Inspects and performs safety tests on electrical lighting, alarm systems, and medical equipment. Maintains all required records and information for all regulatory agencies (i.e., JAHCO, NFPA, state and city health departments). Anticipates maintenance needs before they become a problem or a safety hazard.
+ Prioritizing work as to immediate need. Self-motivated, needs little direction when performing routine activities. Works well under pressure of time constraints.
Qualifications
**The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:**
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Five years of experience in painting/building maintenance or is able to demonstrate the ability to perform these responsibilities.
