**Job Title: Painter** **Job Description** We are seeking a dedicated 1st shift Painter to support the construction industry. This role involves sanding steel (which creates dust), priming the steel using pneumatic spray guns, labeling and double-checking inventory parts for customers. The steel parts include beams, trusses, columns, stairs, and handrails. Additionally, you may be required to work in other areas as necessary, including operating CNC machines, plasma tables, and helping in the yard. You will also use overhead cranes and forklifts as needed. The ideal candidate has painting experience, a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. **Responsibilities** + Sand steel parts, creating dust in the process + Prime steel using pneumatic spray guns + Label and double-check inventory parts for customers + Work with steel parts such as beams, trusses, columns, stairs, and handrails + Operate CNC machines, plasma tables, and assist in the yard as needed + Use overhead cranes and forklifts as necessary + Perform final visual inspections of parts before shipment **Essential Skills** + 1+ years of experience in industrial or residential spray painting + Comfortable with dust and paint fumes (respirators available) + Ability to stand for the duration of shifts, and stoop, crawl, bend, and climb as needed + Attention to detail for final visual inspections + Team player with adaptability to work in various roles **Work Environment** You will work in a facility that handles high-quality steel fabrication, processing various structural and miscellaneous steel projects. The work hours are Monday to Friday from 6am to 4:30pm, with Saturday shifts from 6am to 11am as needed. During the first month of employment, you will work from 6am to 2:30pm for training. The environment involves exposure to dust from sanding and paint fumes, with respirators available for safety. You will be part of a dedicated team that has been successfully completing projects for over 35 years. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, Indiana. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
