Summary:
The Painter Helper will be assisting in the paint department with various functions. This position needs attention to detail as well as an eye for defects. A successful candidate will be safety minded and a great team player. Excellent attitude and attendance would be great contributions to this position as well.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Mask off and cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection of equipmentFill cracks, holes, and joints per specificationsErect scaffolding, movable, and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areasRemove paint splatters when finishedClean up all equipment, including brushes and spray gunsDrive forklift to stage parts and move materialMaintain an organized and clean work area.Adhere to all company policies, procedures, including safety and environmental rulesProperly hang and remove parts from paint racksClean all surfaces to ensure proper adherence of products when necessaryInstall non-skid coatings on various itemsAssemble small parts, including minor wiringOther assignments as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Excellent attendance.Positive attitude and works in collaboration with other team members to get projects complete.Attention to detail and quality standards to get it done right the first time.Possess knowledge of and ability to identify fabrication industry metals and ability to help in metal fabrication areas as neededAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.Ability to work well with team members.Strong orientation towards quality, safety and continual improvement.Current Driver’s LicenseExperience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Working Conditions:
Attendance – The ability to work as scheduled with punctual attendance, Monday-Thursday plus any additional hours/days necessary to meet business demands.The job is performed under extreme temperature variations and some hazardous conditions.Physical Requirements:
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing on ladders and platforms of heights above 42”, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling throughout an 8-12 hour day, and up to 60 hours per week.Manual dexterity – The ability to type or operate common mechanical tools and equipment up to 12 hours per day, 60 hours per week.Lifting – The ability to bend, stoop and lift up to 50 lbs.
