Job Concepts Function of Work: To serve as assistant to a Painter Foreman and provide assistance, guidance and support to a group of Painters while performing standard tasks of the trade. Level of Work: Advanced. Supervision Received: General from a Painter Foreman. Supervision Exercised: Leadworker over Painters and Apprentices. Location of Work: May be used by all state agencies. Job Distinctions: Differs from Painter Foreman by the absence of full supervisory responsibilities. Differs from Painter by the presence of advanced journeyman duties and leadworker responsibilities. Examples of Work Performs all tasks enumerated for the Painter job. Provides guidance for journeyman painters, apprentices and helpers as directed by foreman or other supervisory personnel. Directs the sequence of work of subordinates. Works with and sets pace for subordinates. Estimates costs of painting projects.
