Job Title: Painter Supervisor
Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Painter Supervisor to join our team. This first shift position runs from 6 am to 4 pm. The ideal candidate will have experience running a crew, handling manning, and completing tasks as provided. This role requires significant painting experience in the marine industry, including mixing and applying standard epoxies and UHS coatings, knowledge of surface preparation techniques, and the ability to repair spray equipment. The ability to follow directions from supervisors and perform additional duties as necessary to complete the job safely and on time is essential.

ResponsibilitiesRun and manage a crew effectively.Handle manning and task assignments.Perform painting tasks in the marine industry, including mixing and applying standard epoxies and UHS coatings.Utilize knowledge of surface preparation techniques.Repair spray equipment correctly.Follow directions from supervisors.Perform additional duties as necessary to complete the job safely and timely.Essential Skills1+ year of supervisor experience in a marine/shipyard setting.3+ years of brush and roll painting experience.Experience with blasting techniques.Ability to follow safety guidelines and work safely in various conditions.Additional Skills & QualificationsC14 and C12 Certification is a huge plus.Must have 1-2 years of experience in a marine industry environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment requires regular walking and frequent standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, or crawling at various heights and in confined spaces. Occasionally, you will need to sit, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to feel, grip, or handle. You must be able to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly and use vision to see up close, at a distance, peripherally, and with depth perception in low light conditions. You may be required to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes, hard hats, goggles, and respirators.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
